A useful Christmas gift: homemade coffee warmer mug. (Source: mydays.at)

Selfmade coffee warmer mug

It looks great and a person can always use it: homemade coffee warmer cup with individually designed motifs.

You need:

  • Felt pads (about 1 mm thick); they can be found in stationery stores or on the Internet
  • Fabric glue
  • Cloth scissors, ruler and pens
  • Coffee mug (large)

This is how it’s done:

Take a felt pad in the desired color and cut off a strip about four fingers wide. To determine the length, put the strip around your coffee mug. Where the ends of the strip meet, leave an overlap of about 1 cm and cut the rest away. Now you have the base – you can decorate this strip as you wish, e.g. by cutting out of other felt pads symbols (stars, fir trees, or something more difficult: a reindeer – the possibilities are great) and glue the crafted elements on the strip at will. Now this useful gift is completed.

Reindeer beer

It goes very fast and looks funny, this gift is an original idea with some humor.

You need:

  • A six-pack of beer depending on your choice
  • Six pairs of craft eyes (available from major retailers or online)
  • Six red noses (for example made of red pipe cleaner wire)
  • Brown pipe cleaner wire
  • Adhesive (for example, hot glue)

This is how it’s done:

First, glue a pair of eyes and a nose on each bottle neck. Then take the brown pipe cleaner wire that serves as antlers and wrap it once around the top of the bottle. Then bend the ends of the wire upwards so they look (at least a little) like antlers. Finally, wrap the bottom part of the box with some packing or wrapping paper – ready.

Hot chocolate on the spoon

Another culinary gift that is guaranteed to appeal to any chocolate lover.

For 8 spoons, you need:

  • 270 g chocolate (preferably different varieties)
  • For decoration: sprinkles, grated coconut, mini marshmallows or chocolate sprinkles
  • 8 spoons

This is how it’s done:

First, melt the chocolate (different varieties in separate pots). Then let it cool briefly, so it becomes a little firm. Now „fill“ the spoons with the chocolate – with the different varieties you can form beautiful patterns – and put them on a baking sheet covered with baking paper. Now you can decorate your work to your heart’s content with sprinkles, sugar or whatever else comes to mind. Finally, you just have to let the spoons cool completely.

The spoons are nicely packaged in small plastic bags tied together with a bow. For a soothing hot chocolate, the recipient must just stir his cup of hot milk with the spoon and voilà.

DIY: Fruity bath salt

And finally, something for relaxing: bath salts have a nourishing effect and fit perfectly with a hot bath in the cold winter.

You need:

  • 500 g salt, for example sea salt, rock salt or Himalaya salt.
  • 2 T vegetable oil, such as olive oil or almond oil
  • 15 drops essential orange oil
  • 1 organic orange
  • Food coloring (optional)

This is how it’s done:

Start by crushing the salt crystals to a desired size. This works best with a mortar and pestle. Next, add the high-quality vegetable oil, which is responsible for skin care. Add the 15 drops of essential oil – which gives the bath salt a pleasant orange smell and has a relaxing effect on the body. Now it’s time to mix everything well and add shredded pieces of orange peel for optical appeal.

Finally, fill your mixture in a nice glass or plastic bag and wrap it for Christmas. The wellness gift is done.
